FREDA FLIER MADDOW grew up in Los Angeles.  She studied dance with Benjamin Zemach and Carmelita Maracci.  She performed in concerts with Benjamin, danced in many films and at the Hollywood Bowl, Pasadena Playhouse and on tour in California.  She was a member of Martha Graham’s Dance Company, Eugene Loring’s Dance Players and danced on Broadway in Finian’s Rainbow.  She returned to Los Angeles from New York to marry and raise a family.  She has two daughters and 6 grandchildren.  Her two special hobbies are painting and playing the flute.
