MIRIAM ROCHLIN was born in Bonn, Germany in 1920 and raised in Berlin. Dance training - Jutta Klamt Institute until December 1935, then Awanawa School of Dance. Immigrated to Holland in 1937, and to the U.S. in 1940. In Los Angeles she was assistant to Benjamin Zemach at the School of Fine Arts, University of Judaism. She was a regular member of Zemach's Dance Group from 1949 until 1965. In 1967 she made an award winning dance documentary "The Art of Benjamin Zemach." From 1977 to 1979 Rochlin worked in Israel and taught at the University of Tel Aviv and at Tzafta (professional actors club) "movement for actors". Recently, she has also been working with immigrants from Yemen, Bulgaria and others in ethnic dance.
