MARION SCOTT. This performance marks Marion Scott’s return to performing after a hiatus of 15 years. Marion studied with Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Charles Weidman, Hanya Holm and Jose Limon She danced in the companies of Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Charles Weidman, Helen Tamiris and Daniel Nagrin. She had her own professional dance company in New York City before moving to U.C.L.A. in 1969 as a Professor of Dance – teaching choreography at all levels and becoming resident choreographer of the U.C.L.A. Dance Company. She retired in 1986. Three hip replacement surgeries have limited her dancing but not her spirit.
