JANE COMFORT is a choreographer, writer and director whose company has been presented in New York City, throughout the U.S. and in Europe.  In 1998, she received a BESSIE Award for Underground River. Her piece, Faith Healing, a re-examination of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, had a limited Off-broadway run after permiering at P.S. 122.  She choreographed Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Broadway musical Passion, and continues to contribute to theater and film.  Her work has also been produced off-Broadway, and she has choreographed for Broadway, film and off-Broadway productions.  She was a member of James Cunningham’s Acme Dance Company from 1976-1978; and her very first performance in New York was as a dancer for Lindsay Crouse in a shared program with Tina Croll.
