VIOLA FARBER was a member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. After this, she formed the Viola Farber Dance Company and performed throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. She was also Artistic Director of Centre National De Danse Contemporaine in France. She has taught and choreographed at the London Contemporary Dance School, taught at the National Theatre Studio and done free-lance work in England. Currently, she is Director of the Dance Department at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. Viola is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, as well as NEA and NYSCA Grants. She does free-lance work in and out of the United States.
